4 - The Dauphine Skirt - Construction / Back
Join piece 18 to 18 and then 8 to each side to complete the upper back panel.
Depending on your fashion fabric, interfacing and lining might be necessary on both front and back pockets/flaps.
If adding pockets to the back, sew piece 12 - top stitching the upper edge before sewing the sides and bottom to the skirt panel. Line up the edges of the flap to the pocket before sewing down in the same manner as the front.
I’ve played around with placement, the angle marked on the pattern is cute (and shown below), but I also wanted to add that lining the pocket up to the left center seam also works. Sewers choice!
Sew piece 1 - the lower back to the upper back panels.
*This was an earlier test, and shows the angles pocket placement.
Join the front to the back using the lower panel seam as a match point.
Sew from the bottom to the top.
The upper back panel has lots of bias as you can see from the grainline angle, ease this piece and pin well to the front upper panel before sewing.
